The Urban Village Movement

Mission

Our mission is to enhance the sense of community in the city we live in. The Urban Village Movement brings people together over food, conversation and activity. It aims to foster real communication, something we see as jeopardized by a society so heavily reliant on social media. Our events provide a unique experience for all guests, connecting both friends and strangers. Attendees are urged to inspire, learn and enjoy, as our goal is to create a vibrant network full of people who crave genuine and interesting dialogue.

Our Events

Our Urban Village Dining Events are held at a variety of unique Vancouver venues. We create settings that encourage and enhance the sharing of conversation, food and laughter.  Our chosen locations include parks, beaches, lookouts and patios. We hope to show you some of Vancouver’s indoor and outdoor urban secrets. Note that all of our Urban Village Dining Events are hosted rain or shine. After all, we do live in Vancouver…

A few things you can expect at one of our events include: spontaneous toasts, seat changes, mini challenges, delicious food, surprises, after parties, and new friends. Click here to see a list of all our events.

A Taste of the Sept 20th Long Table

Community Dinner VancouverAnother great group of people made for an amazing evening of laughs, delicious food, and most importantly new friends!

The Urban Village Movement is powering a stronger community in Vancouver. If this is something you feel is needed in our city please join us for one of our future events. We ask all our guests to share a little bit of “stranger friendliness” with the rest of the city when they leave the event. So if a stranger says hi to you on the street and you don’t know what to do… Try saying hi back.
